"Apparent" Assassination Attempt
Why "Apparent"?
The recent assassination attempt against Donald Trump in Florida is frequently being modified by the word “apparent,” as in this CBS Report:
Suspect in apparent Trump assassination attempt hit with two gun charges

Again, why “apparent”? The man had a rifle with a scope. He was hiding on the periphery of a Trump golf course, waiting for Trump to appear. He has a long record of tweeting critically against Trump. He has a criminal record as well. Fortunately, he was spotted before Trump came into range and before he could start shooting.
Is “apparent” meant to suggest the shooter wasn’t gunning for Trump? Then why was he there, trying to conceal himself while pointing a rifle downrange? Is “apparent” meant to play down the assassination, suggesting that this attempt shouldn’t count the same as the previous attempt in Pennsylvania, where the shooter succeeded in getting off several shots, one of which winged Trump in the ear?
It’s bizarre.
For some reason, a scene from “Dirty Harry” came to mind, where Harry (played by Clint Eastwood, of course), memorably determined the “intent” of a rapist:
To paraphrase Harry, when I see a man holding a rifle with a scope pointed in the direction of a golf course where a former president is playing, I don’t expect he’s plinking at gophers.
Readers, what’s up with this word, “apparent”? Any other ideas?

Shooting someone with a bullet. So old fashioned. So clumsy.
Just cause their handheld pager or phone to explode!
A wave of exploding pagers in Lebanon and Syria kills at least 8, including members of Hezbollah

So, if we're carrying Smart phones with lithium batteries, we're walking around with our government tracking device and the personal bomb that can take us out. How comforting!
Update: Apparently the pagers were rigged with HE (high explosive) by Israel. I guess that means our Smart Phones are safe ... or they're not hand grenades.
The owners demonstrated that if they want a President dead (JFK), he (and eventually a she) will be killed. The deranged individual (as this dude appears to be) can't be stopped from at least an attempt.
The bigger issue is that it demonstrates the ongoing corruption of what's called the MSM. Using that one adjective is just a thumb on the scale of reporting.
That's been true for sometime. What's really frightening is the way in which alternative voices are being stifled or silenced that counter the 'guard rails' narrative of the MSM.
It doesn't matter if someone likes or despises a particular voice or platform. But consider that the following have been attacked, demonetized, or removed from platforms. Just off the top of my head: Tik Tok, Tucker Carlson, Judge Napolitano, RT, Chris Hedges, Consortium News, Matt Taibbi, and Glenn Greewald. And many others.
