One of the things I find most puzzling is the lack of accountability of the media for proliferating all the lies. The NYT and Washington Post had no problems reporting all the lies (e.g., weapons of mass destruction, progress in the Afghan war, etc.) and then had no shame when reporting that they were all lies. People believed the lies when they were issued, but failed to react when the lies were exposed. How many people cancelled their subscriptions or turned away from other news media that had lied to them? I can probably count them on one hand. The NYT subscription numbers continue to increase (mostly through digital subscriptions) despite being the unabashed purveyor of lies.

If you want to hold a liar accountable, cut out his tongue. In the case of the media, stop paying for the lies. To me, it makes no sense to pay good money just to read or listen to lies. The continued loyalty of subscribers to the constantly lying media simply boggles my mind.

As the comedian Jimmy Dore said, you don't get attacked for lying - you get attacked for telling the truth.
