And aren't we all thrilled to learn of a new class of battleships named for the most CLASSLESS POTUS to ever soil Washington DC?? "Only" $5 billion to build each, before cost overruns! I wonder who's gonna get the contracts for their construction? Will Trump Organization expand into shipbuilding? :-(
I can only look at the occasional NFL highlights reels of some games, since I've been priced out of cable or satellite TV markets since 2019. Thanks for the explanation for why I'm seeing "Choose Love" on the back of some players' helmets. I like that! But of course, actions speak way louder than words. So as long as NFL teams dress their personnel in pseudo-military fatigues for game time, we know where the NFL leadership really stands.
Since The 1970's, Professional Sports has been used as a Means of Population Control... It is the 'Circus' of 'Bread & Circuses'... Meanwhile the Body-Politic gets more Unhealthy, and Fractured...
So Herman and Chomsky's "Manufacturing Consent" comes to the gridiron... Of course should we expect anything other than this from the NFL p.r. apparatus? I still remember that campaign from a few years ago, where gorgeous models were seductively gyrating in oversized team jerseys to "You Don't Own Me." Huh? I don't own you, yet you're still reduced to a male sexual fantasy? (The fact that I still remember these ads sorta tells you how they resonate(d) with my primal self.)
And in underscoring your point, let's not forget the NFL's treatment of Colin Kaepernick, now there's a sticker worth emblazoning on a helmet. Robert Kraft was pre-eminent in (not) standing up for him and his message, he could have defied his billionaire cohorts and picked him up as a backup in preparation for Brady's inevitable retirement, but n-o-o-o-o. Kaepernick has a website, pretty good one, at https://kaepernick7.com/.
Finally, as to meaningful commentary on sports in America, the journalist David Zirin has a program "Edge of Sports" on FSTV (Free Speech TV), available on satellite DirecTV (no plug, just sayin'...).
How about "Take Greenland" (sarc)
Followed by a new NFL team: the Greenland Grenadiers!
"Trump's Greenland Grenadiers". A new team in the Trump Football League (formerly the National Football League)

How about "End Traumatic Brain Injury."
Given the NFL takes huge sums of money from the Department of Defense/War - how about "Property of the Pentagon"?
Don’t join the military!
If only, Bill, if only. Capitalism forbids it!
What a great time to be alive if you like me like living during the--"Theatre of the Absurd!!" Merry Xmas & a Happy New Yr. too...:/ :o)
