Thanks for reminding me I left one point off my just-posted comment: In June 1982, I participated in a huge march against nuclear madness in NYC. It felt like a crowd of a million souls, it really was gigantic. (Protest march organizers tend to inflate crowd sizes, while the Establishment deliberately understates them. But this honestly looked and felt like a good million people!) And then what happened? The liberal, Casper Milquetoast (that name again!) leadership of that movement absolutely dropped the ball. There were no follow-up actions whatsoever, and nothing of that magnitude has happened since. There have been very large marches about the Climate Disaster--and rightly so--but nothing like June of 1982. A disastrous failure of "leadership."
