Two Sham Debates Between Biden and Trump

They’re debating! Joe Biden and Donald Trump have agreed to two jousts, the first on CNN on June 27th. Here’s how CNN sells it:
President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump have accepted an invitation from CNN to debate on June 27, a historically early showdown that will set the tone for the final months of the 2024 campaign. The debate will be held at CNN's Atlanta studios with no audience present — an anomaly in debates between presidential candidates. Republicans have for months been piling the pressure on Biden to debate Trump after the president offered non-committal answers on whether the face-offs would take place. But several sources say that the debate had actually been in the works for weeks, as the campaigns separately came to the conclusion that debates over the summer would benefit both their candidates and American voters.
Note that bolded statement: no audience, so no one shouting “Genocide Joe” to Mr. Biden, and no audience members for Mr. Trump to clown to. The moderators can’t be worse: Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, both corporate tools. Apparently the real debate has been over how to cut Trump’s microphone if and when he abuses the rules.
Naturally, third-party candidates aren’t invited, obviously for the “benefit” of the voters. Who knows: Maybe this is a good thing for RFK Jr., Marianne Williamson, and similar candidates. Would you want to lower yourself to participate in this sham, this mockery of a debate, this shitshow?
These so-called debates will only further debase the American political process, hopefully convincing more people to vote for anyone other than Biden and Trump.
The second debate will be on ABC News on September 10th. While Trump apparently pushed for more debates, Biden seems content with just these two.
I suppose one can expect a lot of gaffes from Biden, a lot of lies and exaggerations from Trump, a lot of yelling and angry moments, in short, plenty of heat with no light.
I especially can’t wait to see which candidate professes to love Israel more.
I fail to see how these "debates" could possibly benefit American voters. No different than two long-gone winos fighting over the dregs of a bottle of Thunderbird rescued from a trash bin in Chicago's Grant Park: one won't shut up and the other barely able to string a noun and verb together. 8 to 5 and half your money back the first debate will be such a shambolic affair that the second will be cancelled. Remember, you read it here first.
Debates actually require that the people involved discuss policies, so we need a new name for spectacles that avoid all mention of policy positions. Maybe nobates? dumbates? fakebates?
One thing is for sure, they aren't debates seeing as policy discussions are forbidden. When it is over, maybe we can ask for a rebate?
