Agreement. And it was the unraveling of the Ottoman Empire's vast holdings that made World War I as other powers scrambled to grab their lucrative colonies. Hmm, what overextended empire is now unraveling as we witness genocide backed by industrialists?

True for all wars....and those who fight in them. In 1995, there was a news story about numerous ministers, priests and rabbis who reported many men coming to them and relating that they had done horrible things during the war but were unable to ever talk about them. But now, on the anniversary of D-Day and looking at their deaths becoming closer, they were in anguish about what they had done and were seeking understanding at least from their spiritual leaders and perhaps some absolution for their "crimes." No one is immune when they go to war. And as the stanza from the old Irish ballad says: "and blood for blood without remorse".....once the battle starts.
