If there’s one certainty in this world, it’s that Joe Biden lacks the physical and mental vigor to serve as president for another four years. In fact, he may lack the vigor to serve until January of next year.
The American people seem to agree. CNN posted this poll this morning: A new CBS/YouGov poll found 72% of registered voters now believe Biden does not have the mental and cognitive health to serve as president, compared to 28% of voters who said he should stay in the race.
When nearly three out of four Americans doubt your capacity to serve, it’s time to step aside. The original plan, after all, was for Joe Biden to be a one-term president.
Again, no matter. According to CNN, the Biden family is standing by their man, united in supporting Joe in his bid for reelection, despite obvious physical and cognitive limitations.
Here’s the snippet from CNN:
President Joe Biden's family is encouraging him to stay in the 2024 race, offering their "unequivocal support" during a family gathering at Camp David on Sunday, according to two Biden advisers. The meeting came as Biden and his campaign are confronting an avalanche of calls for the president to drop out after his dismal performance during last week's CNN presidential debate. Sources say the family has also discussed whether any of Biden's top advisers should be fired and whether campaign staffing changes should be made.
If Joe Biden were my dad, I’d be telling him that he’d done enough, that it was time to pass the baton and step down. There is no way I would allow my father to embarrass himself further as well as possibly driving himself into the ground (and an earlier grave) due to the demands of his position.
A catchphrase from Clint Eastwood’s “Magnum Force” is that a good man’s got to know his limitations. Joe no longer knows his limitations so it’s up to his family and most trusted advisers and friends to tell him. So far, they appear to be blowing smoke up Joe’s butt, telling him he’s still got what it takes. Indeed, the family appears to be displacing blame onto campaign staffers. Should we “change” some of them? Or maybe some of Joe’s “top advisers” should be fired?
A campaign staff shakeup is probably coming soon that will “revitalize” Joe’s chances. That, and a pending announcement that Joe has discovered the fountain of youth.
All Kabuki. Presidents don’t run anything anyway. The unelected Empire managers are fine with an addled brain at the helm. All the better for them to steal, kill and maim whatever or whomever they desire, unabated.
Well, if advisors and staff need to be fired, I would start with Jake Sullivan and Tony Blinken. They are rabid war mongers of the first order and are driving the game of nuclear chicken currently underway against Russia. The ironclad grip on the National Security State by the neocon cabal is dangerous and pernicious in the extreme. Whether Biden stays or goes will do little to break the grip. We continue to suffer under the illusion that the frontmen and women who are elected to high office run the show. If that were true, how is it that US foreign policy and endless Pentagon funding carry on seamlessly and without interruption no matter who is elected every four years?
