Whether it's a preemptive strike or a retaliatory one, it only desecrates God's universe, making life unliveable and a condition worse than death. A mass suicide is indicative of a world sick unto death.

It's a sad statement about our current human civilization and governance that we must even contemplate such questions. It must appear to any extra-terrestrial observers- either of the present moment or one who conducts an archaeological history in the future- that humanity was led / governed by lunatics. They might have to investigate the foods, water, and air for clues as to what drove them all mad enough to create and use weapons that could effectively exterminate most of the life forms on the planet in one incident. I speak from that perspective because I can't fathom nor explain this lunacy myself.

You write, "Meanwhile, Americans are fighting over gender pronouns even as the implications of genocidal nuclear weapons are ignored. It won’t matter if we’re called she, he, or they when we’re all dead."

That's dead-straight on.

There are two primary extinction-level threats at present: the rapid destabilization of the climate control system, and the potential starting of global thermonuclear exchange; which is why, as we know, the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists have set the "Doomsday Clock" closer to midnight then at any other time since its conception. There are intersections, i.e. is a nexus, between these two threats, and one (war) is making the other less tractable with every passing day.

Yet those who've succumbed to the sirens of the never-ending Culture Wars are so distracted by one or more aspects of those that they are unable to even consider that all those concerns will likely very soon be moot unless they swiftly reconsider and revise their priorities- to put survival of humanity and our co-evolved species ahead of all other concerns.

But the aforementioned 'leaders' are only TOO HAPPY to continue to stoke the flames of the culture wars, so that the peons will keep enabling them, both with their silence and in their partisan loyalty, to keep Empire-expansion, war, defense spending and corporate profits generally, etc. at the top of the national Agenda.

In his 94 book "Pale Blue Dot" which I have in my book collection Sagan wrote about seeing an image of Earth from Voyager 1, "To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish, the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known." He may have been a hippie Scientist who smoked Pot, wore Mod Clothes, and had long hair, but he knew the score. Politics aside which he and I pretty much abhor!

On my weekly visit to the Post Office to check my box yesterday, i noticed that the American and POW-MIA flags were at half-staff. Again. Just the latest time this government’s politicians have expressed their “sincere and heartfelt Thoughts and Prayers” for the latest victims of the latest and yet another mass shooting. Again killing Kids.

At this point, it would be very appropriate for all Americans to start flying all of their national flags permanently not merely at half-staff, but even more importantly and appropriately, also upside down.

4 U.S. Code § 8 - Respect For Flag states: “The flag should never be displayed with the union down, EXCEPT AS A SIGNAL OF DIRE DISTRESS IN INSTANCES OF EXTREME DANGER TO LIFE OR PROPERTY.”

[ https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/4/8 ; EMPHASIS added.]

Well, this nation is in very “dire distress,” indeed; and there is “extreme danger to Life and Property” that promises only to get worse at the individual and collective levels…

~ as America’s 30-year reign of global, unipolar hegemony comes to an end;

~ as the US dollar’s status as the global “reserve currency” since 1944 is terminated; and

~ as this nation descends into the chaos and collapse that marks a Failed Empire and a failing Nation-State, and into the only alternative available to those same politicians: Police State Tyranny and Thought Control.

Anybody who has any doubts about any of this, consider the following fact: Donald Trump and Joe Biden are the leading candidates to become the next President of the United States. What does that tell You about the future of this nation?

“IF I WERE DICTATOR, I’D …” : A Thought Experiment In Which You Become The Dictator of The United States of America, and Explain to the American People and the World What You intend to Do. And Why You Intend To Do It. Dedicated to the Victims of the Next 9/11

“If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier... as long as I'M the dictator.” - GW Bush

“If I were King of the Forest… “ - the Cowardly Lion

“If I only had a Brain… “ - the Scare Crow

And he, Bush, is, of course, absolutely correct. A dictatorship is ALWAYS a heck of lot easier......, especially for the dictator. There are, always have been, and always will be any number of people who could and would testify to this: particularly among those with first-hand experience as either a dictator or a dictator's functionary or beneficiary, from the highest to the lowest levels.

For the sake of exploring possibilities, then, let us pretend for a moment that OPERATION SMEDLEY BUTLER is a complete and total success: ie, that a military coup spearheaded by the Walter E Kurtz Brigade overthrows the government of the United States, placing the entire Legislative branch and the entire senior leadership of the Executive and Judicial branches of that government under arrest for, among other things beyond mere dereliction of duty: incompetence, corruption, collusion, duplicity, and complicity, among other “high crimes and misdemeanors,” including above all, breach of trust. The coup occurs very late one Friday nite, and is completely bloodless.

Early Saturday morning, a spokeswoman for The Coup, speaking from The White House, announces that: a temporary change in the government of this nation has indeed occurred; that the seizure of power by the Walter E Kurtz Brigade is total but temporary; and that the mission ~ and thus first order of business ~ of the new government is, quite simply, to fix the old one. Permanently.

She explains that the Coup has complete and total control of all strategic and tactical space, air, sea, and land global, national, state, and local defense, security, intelligence, communications, transportation, and law enforcement assets and agencies.

She explains further that all economic, social, financial, fiscal, and monetary policy and action agencies and offices of the Federal government [including all branches of The Federal Reserve] are also under Coup control.

Next, she says that she will be followed by the individual who will explain exactly What the new government is going to do [and un-do], and How and Why it is going to do [and un-do] it; and, that this person will detail all of the Executive Orders that You just finished signing. She then introduces You …….

What do You say?

You’ve got 60 minutes.

Great question but the point I take away is how we are so distracted by the insignificant in order to avoid the looming disaster. In Tennessee we of course embarrass ourselves by being more concerned with drag shows, than the 6 people just killed at the elementary school. We are more concerned with NOT accepting federal money than helping bring people out of poverty or providing Medicaid. Well I could go on.

Well, if I'm the President, the country has already scrapped the $2 trillion for nuclear modernization and has negotiated/is in the midst of negotiating new nuclear weapons bans. The U.S. has made sincere overtures to China and Russia to work together on various issues, especially climate change. Because the only way I'd ever be President would be if the country were of a frame of mind to ramp down on war and destruction.

But in all seriousness, and without having technical expertise, I have to wonder if there would be a way, now, to limit casualties from a nuclear attack to "only" a few million people? Given radioactive fall-out that would circle the globe? I've been under the impression that even today's "small" nukes would have dire consequences way beyond the blast itself. But maybe I'm exaggerating the threat. Anyway, I can't imagine ordering a retaliation.

WAKE UP, AMERICA: There is a Shit Storm coming, and You are at Ground Zero. Or, Calling it “The Patriot Act on Steroids” is Understatement!

This week, something incredible happened.

A bill called the “Restricting the Emergence of Security Threats that Risk Information and Communications Technology (RESTRICT) Act” was set to sail through Congress, innocuously referred to as a bill to “ban TikTok,” the Chinese-owned social network which is now the most popular in the world.

The moment seemed perfect for consensus in Washington. . .

. . . Against the backdrop of growing concern about social media in general and TikTok in particular, a visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to Moscow kicked the entire political and media establishment into overdrive to punish China in any way possible.

What is the RESTRICT Act?

. . . It’s the most terrifying piece of legislation in years, if not the most terrifying piece of legislation ever introduced in American history.

IT WOULD GIVE THE GOVERNMENT THE ABILITY TO TARGET ANYONE THEY DEEM AS A NATIONAL SECURITY RISK – REGULAR PEOPLE LIKE YOU AND ME – AND ALLOW THEM TO REMOTELY ACCESS EVERY PIECE OF ELECTRONICS WE OWN, FROM OUR COMPUTERS AND CELL PHONES TO THE CAMERA ON THE FRONT PORCH.

And if they find you in violation, they can seize your property, fine you one million dollars, and imprison you for 20 years.

Don’t expect a fair trial, either. The RESTRICT Act limits judicial review to the notoriously corrupt and partisan D.C. Circuit Court.

And you couldn’t raise a defense for the rules being issued in violation of the Administrative Procedures Act. Relevant agency actions are exempt from review.

In other words, they can write the rules and hold them against you before you could have even heard of them.

Oh – and everything they do is exempt from the Freedom of Information Act, so they will do it all in secret.

On a recent episode of The Liberty Report, I agreed the RESTRICT Act is “the Patriot Act on Steroids.”

This is not hyperbole. If anything, it exaggerates the power of steroids.

The RESTRICT Act would allow the Biden administration to control speech on the Internet, under threat of being federally prosecuted for a 20-year felony.

The government would be allowed to ban apps if any of its users were believed to have conducted “foreign interference in American elections.”

But in case that wasn’t sufficiently vague and overbroad, the bill even says it can force social media companies to censor their users if their speech appeared to be “trying to steer policy in a foreign government’s favor.”

So, if you’re using Facebook, Twitter, or ANY platform to speak in a manner the government deems “steering policy decisions in a foreign government’s favor” – like, say, opposing the U.S. proxy war against Russia in Ukraine – the government could force these platforms to ban you. . . and much, much worse!

Because you might be opposed to U.S. involvement in the war in Ukraine, the United States government can seize your property, fine you one million dollars, and imprison you for 20 years.

This is nothing less than the complete destruction of the First Amendment. This bill would give the government express power to control public speech.

I may not be a fan of TikTok, much less a user of the platform, but banning it takes us down a very, very dangerous path.

And given everything we have seen from the government recently – banning the sitting president from Twitter, censoring the truth about Covid, vaccines, the Biden family’s corrupt dealings, and on and on – you can be absolutely CERTAIN this unconstitutional and authoritarian power will be abused with you and me as the clear targets.

Think of it! Ordinarily, they give the most pernicious, most dangerous bills misleading names.

~ Spy on Americans? Call it the “PATRIOT” Act!

~ Tax, spend, and inflate? Call it the “Inflation Reduction” Act!

~ Universal Gun Registration? Call it the “SAFE” Act! (New York did.)

This time, they just came out and said it: The RESTRICT Act would close your airway and STRANGLE free speech in America.

The “RESTRICT” Act would not just destroy free speech on social media. . .

It would destroy Free Speech in America – period.

I fear that scenario is going to play out.

It appears that both China and Russia have concluded that the neocon US is irrevocably committed to the destruction of its enemies. I've wondered why Russia with 500,000 troops in reserve has not begun its Spring offensive; their conclusion may be that, weather and road conditions aside, once it begins the West will attack them with tactical nuclear weapons. So, they will not begin until their advanced air defense systems (S-500) and additional hypersonic nuclear weapons are deployed.

At that point, what would a US President do if "only" Brussels and London were hit - even before any strikes on the US?

And the majority of our citizens don't even recognize the increasing danger. They're told Ukraine is winning, and after all, it's time for the Final Four.

We threw it away, Dennis. Many are to blame, but I'd point the biggest finger at Barack Obama, who promised to work for nuclear disarmament but who then compromised and started the U.S. nuclear buildup that is making matters far worse.

All that Obomber was doing was following instructions. It was either that, or Biden would have been President much sooner.

And let us not forget on whose watch the overthrow of a democratically-elected government in Ukraine was ordered, resourced, and made to happen, and the slaughter of folks in the east of Ukraine initiated. Thereby setting the stage for what's happening there today. Why by our very own Nobel Peace Prizer Obomber himself.

And of course, there was also Libya, Syria, Yemen, and all those other places most Americans can't find on a map of the world that the Obama regime engaged with.

So what's the surprise and disappointment about what "the best White Man's Black Boy money can buy" did regarding nuclear weapons?

But then Reagan pushed his "Star Wars" project. Was that a contradiction? I'm not sure.

Expand full comment

Reagan didn't like our policy of Mutual Assured Destruction and sought a means to make nuclear missiles obsolete. His Star Wars (Strategic Defense Initiative) was a project to do just that. He even offered to share it with the Soviets when developed, a prospect that must have horrified our foreign policy establishment.

Yeah, no doubt.

And in the meantime, Bush the Elder's Bozo was following instructions to launch Osama bin Laden and Da Boyz on the quest to give the USSR its "very own Vietnam" in a place called Afghanistan. Thus ultimately laying the groundwork for 9/11 and America's "Forever War," and ultimately, Cold War II.

And it turns out that Reagan's giving his "Evil Empire" their very own Vietnam ended up 40+ years later giving America "its very own Afghanistan." Literally, figuratively, physically, metaphysically, metaphorically, and existentially.

Within two years of the Soviet departure from Kabul, the USSR was no more. It will be interesting to see what the US is two years after its leaving, keeping intact its streak of never having won a war since World War II.
