Acquisition of military equipment is a competition-free market, notwithstanding the competition phase of major new weapons systems. Once a contractor is selected, contracts are either cost-plus or the heralded 'fixed cost'. But in either case, there is no incentive to reduce future costs - ensuring bonuses for defense executives and charitable contributions to politicians.

In spite of the laws of thermodynamics that say it is impossible, defense spending is a perpetual motion machine. It will be until, and likely after, the debt bomb blows up.

It is sadly clear, as I said from the start of this ceasefire, that the US and Israel had no intention of ever getting to Phase II. They are already framing ways to blame Hamas, even though Israel has repeatedly violated the terms. These weapons being sent that are so well detailed here, coupled with the preemptive positioning of "anti-terror" laws to truncate anti-Israel protests, and the continuing talk of a "Riviera in Gaza" just show that a resumption, and intensification of the genocide is near.

The 'Israel Lobby' is one of DJT's main benefactors... DJT must pay them back... The 'Israel Lobby' is one of the longest-lived, and powerful Political Groups in the USA... It is 'Israel-First', and not 'America-First'...

Important to note that most of these weapon need to be produced and delivered 2-4 years in the future.

That means the Israelis expect a few years from now to have to replenish their stocks. Those bulldozers are utilize as a primary tool in ethnic cleansing. Apparently, the Israeli’s feel that in a few years time they will have had more than 100 of those 60 ton armored bulldozers destroyed. Safe to assume in what capacity those D9s destroyed will need to be replaced. Likewise, in a few years time the Israelis intend to have to backfill more than 35,000 2,000lb bombs.

This tells us the Israelis don’t plan on stopping their wars, genocides and annexations any time soon.

This is American genius on display. Bombs and bulldozers are very symbiotic! First we bomb countries and their citizens, then we bulldoze the corpses into unmarked graves. Have some respect for the American economic model, Bill.

That is indeed a mind boggling collection of bombs!! Unless I have missed a really important news story that contradicts my understanding, said understanding is that Netanyahu VOWED that Israel will RESUME the destruction of Gaza (i.e. the extermination of surviving Palestinians) as soon as the hostage deals have been completed. And yes, our nation remains the Number One source of death and destruction on the planet, as MLK Jr. lamented so many decades ago. USA has ZERO "moral authority" in the eyes of anyone in the world with a functioning mind. Squandered whatever it may have possessed at end of WW II long, long ago. And it matters not a damn whether the administration in D.C. calls itself Republican or Democratic.

I also notice that the US is cowardly. They make sure to bomb only countries without an air force.

"President Trump, of course, has the full support of most Democrats in sending this stockpile of destruction to Israel."

That's a broad statement, Bill. Apparently, this new authorization bypassed Congress,

so I'm not sure how to determine how many Dems support continuing genocide, especially in defiance of the ceasefire.

The excerpt you quoted is a fair statement by the author. One only needs look back over votes on aid to ISR--there are seldom more than 50-60 no votes. I don't think that the Trump Admin had any concern for Dems bravely standing against another few billion dollars more being approved. Of course they knew it would never happen. My guess is that it's an executive flex as much as anything. A demonstration that Congress just doesn't matter much once a king assumes the throne.
