While Israel uses bombs to destroy the Palestinians educational system (and culture), the owners here use cops in riot gear, intimidation, and threats to do the same at the university level, along with defunding primary and secondary education.
At the same time, however, they ensure that money-making sports are heavily promoted. College coaches make more than university presidents; secondary arts and music programs are eliminated but varsity sports continue on their merry way - so to feed the college programs.
Nuance and perspective are eliminated - and the crowds cheer. Just like they do the elimination of 'Hamas terrorists' on college campuses.
Enforcing law and order trumps all other considerations. That's the way it works in a plutocracy that will do whatever it takes to impose its domination. Any one who dares to seriously challenge ruling class domination and its vision of global hegemony will be disposed of, one way or another. Students will be expelled, Julian Assange will die a slow death in prison, Palestinians will be slaughtered. Whatever it takes.
Somehow this eerily reminds me vaguely to what happened to my dad and his social democratic friends in Germany in 1933. What is next? Concentration camps or something similar? My working class dad was prescient when he warned us children that 1945 was most likely not the end of the fascist agenda as he observed the return of Nazis into positions of power in West Germany and the reestablishment of the Wehrmacht (Bundeswehr) and its incorporation into NATO. BTW, the U.S. was intimately involved in all of this.
Thanks for posting this and the video. The interviewed student did an outstanding job handling the interview - and that would be the case even in less amped-up circumstances. The students / protestors are in general showing to all of America and indeed the world just who has the moral high ground. As discouraging as the Biden Administration's, and indeed, the entirety of establishment authorities' words and actions have been, these students deserve the gratitude (and even more important, the support) of all Americans with a conscience.
This has become truly frightening. The total roughshod behavior of places like Harvard an MIT (and Columbia though maybe they are slightly less neanderthal in their threats) has come fully out into the open and we see the true monsters behind the curtain. "teachers? who needs them?" WE DO!! And we need them far more than the bully police. The behavior of Harvard and MIT illustrates loudly just how the MICIMATT has taken over our country and we are now fully totalitarian. Anyone who thinks otherwise hasn't been paying attention.
our son, firth, graduated from harvard, and this is what i have just emailed to him, hoping he will followup by contacting his fellow classmates at harvard:
"harvard and MIT are shameless, firth. you have already viewed the U of chicago phd student’s interview that astore includes in this email, fub, but WHAT-THE-FUCHEN is harvard THINKING? how dare they? can’t you and your consociate harvard grads launch a protest against harvard’s administration? you must be gobsmacked by your alma mater’s criminal, inhumanitarian, contemptible, loathesome, draconian behaviour. clearly, harvard and MIT are owned by big corpdon and the MIC. harvard and MIT admins are beyond reprehensible! luvmum."
no, toma, now they bludgeon you w/ steel bats and shoot you w/ lethiferous, putatively 'rubber' bullets while outfitted from crown-to-toe in riot gear and chain-mail armour.
I do agree with you Jazzme, but did you notice the small McDonald’s logo throughout the video, but hey, it’s more than the other fake news outlets are doing.
It is remarkable that this report comes from the organization founded by Roger Ailes. I am impressed, more than 5 minutes on one subject by MSM in an interview with an ordinary person who is allowed to speak his well informed mind.

That young man's courage and integrity exceed that of the thugs (a.k.a., coppers), the University administrators, and the US government.

And I thought they had eliminated the crack on the back of the hand with the wooden ruler. Is this the enhanced improved version?

Great post, if only the humans of the earth would just go back to sleep.
Thank you for this commentary. Excellent video and on Fox news. Go figure. Topsy Turvy world in which we find ourselves.

Hope somebody wasn't fired over this.
