In my opinion, one of the worst aspects of these fundraising letters is that they drive ordinary people apart. I have Trump-supporting family members--so does my boyfriend. We're not giving them up. We just vote differently. I do think Trump is dangerous, but dividing the American public into the good guys and bad guys is more dangerous in the long run.

It's all the Blue Team has at this point. They have no policies that any people in the US want (except the war profiteers) and so they have to run on fear. It is the primary weapon that wealthy elites use to herd the masses. If you turn on TV news, it is a 24/7 fear fest. The Red Team is the same, they blather 24/7 about immigrant hoards. It is no wonder that the US is falling apart when there is this level of fearmongering and dysfunction.

America has been in "Fear Fest" Mode since 9/11, John.

Followed by Saddam's "WMDs," then the 2008 financial "¢risi$," then The COVID Event, then Ukraine and now Palestine and World War III.

And that Mode has worked very efficiently and effectively to bring America to the state it is in today: On the verge of falling apart at the seams.

I sent a message to Steins website a few weeks ago and asked for some specifics on how she intended to accomplish what she was proposing (climate change in particular). I did get a response a couple of days later that said the website would be updated in a few days addressing my questions. To date, nothing has been done. I was considering volunteering to help in whatever way I could, but if they are that disorganized what is the point? If they have no plan of action I won't even consider supporting them. It's no different than a business plan for a business. Without a plan it's meaningless words and promises.

"A wee bit more specificity." as my history Prof used to scrawl on my test.

Times awasting Toma. Jill's been around a long time advocating Green doctrine. Guess you be more anal than most for specific specifics. The Greens got into my thoughts of where we should be goingheading much more so than the other main and minor actors in the game of real politiks.

Cornel West and RFK Jr are off the wall. Jill and the Green movement make sense to me.

Biden/Trump: no way Jose.

Best of luck in your journey. Hspe it has a happy satisfying ending. Kinda light on the ' wee specifics' sorry!

Since when did losing an election disqualify someone from running for the same office again, Dennis? Ever hear of Dick Nixon? Or Donald Trump?

Or Grover Cleveland? Elected to the White House in 1884, defeated in his attempt to get re-elected in 1888, and then elected again in 1892.

All Trump is doing is attempting to pull a "Grover." Presumably, he won't end up as the "Super Grover" of Sesame Street fame and fortune.

NOT TO BE OUTDONE BY TRUMP, BIDEN RELEASES OWN VERSION OF THE QURAN

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Not to be outdone by Trump releasing the "God Bless The USA" Bible, President Biden announced today the production of his very own "Allahu Joe Biden" edition of the Quran.

"Just in time for Ramadan!" exclaimed Biden, holding up a copy fresh off the printing press. "Allahu, uh, the thing!"

According to sources, the new Quran will come with a copy of the Hamas charter as well as a list of President Biden's favorite Arabic proverbs. "Back when I was a kid, I was literally raised in mosques! I was always hanging out with the Imams -- not a joke," said Biden. "Muslim Joe, that's what they used to call me back in Scranton. Trump thinks he's such a hotshot with his Bible, wait until you see the 'Allahu Joe Biden' Quran, the Arabs are going to go crazy for this."

Though the White House vehemently denied Biden's new Quran to be associated with his poor poll numbers in Minnesota and Michigan, pundits have remained skeptical. "With no improvement in the polls after negotiating to free 400 Hamas terrorists, Biden is getting desperate," said Hill commentator Janice Beasley. "Sadly, I don't think he knows how the Muslim community is going to take the phrase 'Allahu Joe'. This won't be pretty."

At publishing time, Biden had announced a humanitarian airdrop of Biden Qurans into Dearborn, Michigan.

10 CHANGES TRUMP MADE IN THE 'GOD BLESS THE USA' BIBLE

The entire world is still abuzz with former President Donald Trump's announcement of the release of his new "God Bless the USA" Bible, but people have wondered what sets this new edition of the Bible apart from all others before it.

We obtained an advance copy and can unveil the following list of changes in Trump's new Bible:

1. Moses has to hold up the American flag so Israelites can win in battle: Waving Old Glory gives the Hebrews the victory.

2. Proverbs is replaced with a collection of Trump's finest tweets: A book full of wisdom, 280 characters at a time.

3. The New Testament now includes the full text of TRUMP: THE ART OF THE DEAL: The two greatest books in history are now together in one volume.

4. Joseph's colorful coat is orange: A very beautiful orange. People loved the orange coat. Everyone says so.

5. Jesus is betrayed by a kiss from Mike Pence: Never trusted Pence. Short guy, fly on head. Not trustworthy.

6. All biblical villains now have nicknames: Including "Phony Pharaoh," "Nasty Nebuchadnezzar," and "Lyin' Lucifer."

7. The first apostle Jesus calls is Ben Franklin: Put down your kite and follow me!

8. 23rd Psalm replaced with lyrics to "American Pie": Such a beautiful song. Let's Make Psalm 23 Great Again!

9. Ravens feed Elijah by bringing him a Big Mac and fries: God provides the best food for His people.

10. Jesus doesn't die in this one: People prefer stories where the hero doesn't die.

That's just a few examples of the exciting additions to the most sacred text in human history. Order your copy today and have God's Word autographed by Trump as a free gift!

At the risk of resurrecting Dennis Merwood’s favorite “Old, Dead Horse” for beating, and triggering one of his routine, standardized, cut-and-paste diatribes against anybody who “loves” America doing anything but voting for Trump… :

As it stands right now, in every federal election to be held in 2024, Americans will have five choices. They will be able to:

* Vote for the Democrat.

* Vote for the Republican.

* Vote Third [Fourth, Fifth, etc] Party.

* Write-In Somebody/Anybody.

* Not Vote.

What if there was a Sixth Choice?

What if there was a Sixth Choice that demanded additional choices be offered? And then Voters made that Choice by being able to vote for it?

What if on every ballot for every federal election there was also a designated spot for “None Of These Candidates”?

This presents the argument that “None Of These Candidates” should be on every ballot of every federal election, and proposes a nation-wide campaign to give the American Voters a real Alternative to ~ and an actual Antidote for ~ what America’s Ruling Political Class is and will be giving them for so-called, alleged “Choices” in 2024.

The best alternative to, antidote for, and action against the “Choices” that America’s Ruling Political Class is offering Voters in 2024 is NONE OF THESE CANDIDATES [NOTC].

Casting one’s vote for any of the 3rd, 4th, or 5th Party candidates will accomplish nothing except give the individual Voter the satisfaction of having voted in accordance with her or his conscience. It will have no impact whatsoever on whether Trump or Biden gets elected.

But if all those contemplating voting 3rd, 4th, or 5th party voted instead for NONE OF THESE CANDIDATES, it could have an impact. Certainly more than scattered votes for the different alternative candidates.

And if all those Voters ~ who have nobody to vote FOR in the election, and only Trump or Biden as who they are going to vote AGAINST being the next President by voting for the other guy, the so-called “lesser of two evils” ~ if all of those Voters voted NOTC, it could have an impact, as well.

And finally, if all those Voters ~ who are fed up enough with American politics to not vote for or against anybody, and not vote at all ~ if all those Voters had the opportunity to vote for NONE OF THESE CANDIDATES as an alternative to Not Voting, it could also have an impact. [Note: In 2016, 38.6% of all Registered Voters did not vote for anybody to be the next President; in 2020, 33.3% did not vote for anybody for POTUS,]

Done in sufficient numbers all across the nation, a strong showing by NOTC would send a very loud and clear message ~ a shot across the bow, as it were ~ to that Ruling Political Class that its time of unbridled, unchallenged, and unchallengeable political power is over.

And that having to choose between “the lesser of two evils” is really nothing but a thinly disguised version of “the evil of two lessers.” And is no longer an acceptable option.

So the Question becomes: How would one vote for NONE OF THESE CANDIDATES and actually make a difference?

One very obvious option would be to organize and launch a national, 50-State wide campaign to get Voters to write-in “None Of These Candidates.”

An alternative to writing-in NOTC would be mandating by State-established process and procedure [legislative action, voter referendum, etc] that NOTC be available as a choice on all ballots for all federal elections held in that State.

Either and/or both of these things could happen very easily if a critical mass of conscientious, concerned, and committed Citizens determined to make exactly that happen in their State in plenty of time for Election2024; particularly in those states with US Senate elections.

For more information and specific details on how and why NOTC2024 is the ONLY viable option and choice that has the potential of bringing meaningful, effective Change to American Politics and its system of Government and Governance, contact me by email at notc.alaska@gmail.com.

OBJECTIONS TO OPTION 6 There are a number of immediate and obvious objections to NOTC being an option on ballots:

1. The biggest objection will no doubt come from the Ruling Political Class itself with the denunciation of the effort to the effect that "If You don't like our candidates and the platforms, programs, and promises they are proposing, then do like we did, get organized, find money, and come up with Your own." le, start another Third~ or is it fourth, fifth, or sixth~ Party [sec Objection 3 below].

To which the rest of us can simply respond:

"Look. We all have neither the interest in, nor the time nor inclination for all that simply because we all have much, much more important things to do besides come up with candidates and their platforms. We are all too busy trying to live our lives, pay our bills, plan for our futures, and deal as best we can with the total mess You people and Your politicians and all their non-elected bureaucrats, appointees, advisers, and other experts have made of this nation, its government, its system of governance, its economy, and civil society. We are particularly busy paying our taxes, for which we Citizens are getting an increasingly less and less of a suitable return on our ‘investment' in our governments than ever.

"Plus, it is not our job to come up with suitable candidates and platforms. After all, that's what we have a Ruling Political Class for, isn't it?"

2. Another objection would be "Well~ not that it would or could ever possibly happen - but what happens if 'None Of These Candidates' actually wins an election? Or forces a run-off? Then what?"

Then come up with a brand new slate of candidates and run the election again, with NOTC remaining a choice. Presumably the fact that NOTC either won the election or forced a run-off would [or at least could] send a very loud and clear message to the RPC that their reign of unbridled power ~ at least when it came to this particular federal election ~ is over. At least for now.

3. A third~ and the weakest~ objection could be from those who would claim that NOTC would undercut efforts by "Third" Parties to have a real impact in elections, and thus government and governance, by taking support and votes away from them, their candidates, and their agendas.

At this point~ and with very, very few exceptions as far as actually, really impacting the outcome of any election over the past 120 years~ any votes for any and all Third Party Candidates are essentially wasted, other than providing the voter with the personal satisfaction of voting her or his conscience, and of, somehow, "sending a message." That is a principal reason that the PRC would be so quick to recommend it, as noted in Objection I above.

And in present day America, no Third Party built on any particular ideology and focused on any specific issues, by itself, is in a position to have any effective impact whatsoever on any election whatsoever, let alone on how the government is run after the election.

If, on the other hand, NOTC was a choice on all ballots; and if all Third Party voters would add their vote to all those Americans who reject both of the major party's candidates by voting NOTC; and if the RPC had to then go back to the drawing board for another election with different candidates and a different set of promises: If all that happened, Third Partiers would have a much bigger say in how things are run in this country than they do now, or have ever had in the past.

I agree whole-heartedly that the vitriol and apocalyptic terminology needs to be replaced with a much more constructive message. If the Dems can't produce that, they've given voters no reason to support them.

What exactly did Trump "achieve" during his first term, Dennis?

Besides setting the stage for America's proxy war with Russia in Ukraine by doing nothing to reign in Obama's Coup Meisters in Kyiv and their slaughter of 14,000+ fellow Ukrainians in the East? And how'd "The Forever War" do with him as Commander-In-Chief?

And presiding over the biggest Failure of Health Care in American history during The COVID Event? As well as the biggest seizure of Executive Power in this nation since Roosevelt's New Deal, and on this Planet since Hitler and Stalin?

And how'd the National. Sovereign Debt do on his watch? When he took office, it stood at $19.6 TRILLION. When he left, it was $26.9 TRILLION, an increase of 37.2%. Under Biden it has increased by 28.2%

And then there were the national "Defense/Security" Budget increases under his leadership: from $645.0 BILLION to $739.1 BILLION, an increase of 14,5%. Under Biden it has increased by 16.1% [Sources on request.]

I know how you feel, Dennis.

I just watched an interview with West. In twenty minutes there wasn't a single thing he said with which I disagreed. In speaking he showed a clear train of thought and a wide field of knowledge, particularly of American history. He was very accurate about the price of empire for the US. He issued no threats, he did not mention anyone that he intended to get even with if elected.

Trump has no philosophy beyond an obsession with being top dog. The thinking behind his words is consistent only in being guided by desire for power. His history shows there is now little room left under the bus because of the many he has thrown there. I've never seen any evidence that he values anything but money and loyalty...to him. That is his standard for evaluating individuals in a contest that is white hot among the 1%, an absurd way to rate human beings, but that gives us far too many of what we call leaders. His photo of himself seated as on a throne in his gilded Manhattan penthouse says all there is to be said of this man with no character.

Given this contrast, there is no chance I would vote for Trump.

Expand full comment

Dennis, I think you would agree that a confidence man is a guy who deceives people by telling them things he thinks they will believe are sincere, stroking them, seducing them, in an effort to get his way with them. While this could be said of many a politician, witness what Trump is saying right now about his latest item for sale, the bible, which he is titling the "God Bless the USA Bible"

Remember that there is nothing in Trump's life history that shows any interest in the bible, the words of Jesus or religion in general. A few years ago he was asked his favorite passage from scripture. He was at a loss for words, most unusual for the man. He is not known as a reader of any books and his philosophy is quite simple as indicated by his ghostwritten book "The Art of the Deal" and that is to come out on top.

Here is what Trump has just said upon the release of his bibles for sale, aiming at the evangelicals that he knows make up a good part of his supporters.

"In a video posted to Truth Social on Tuesday, Trump said he thinks it’s important for every American to have a copy of the Bible in their home.

'It’s my favorite book. I’m proud to endorse and encourage you to get this Bible. We must make America pray again.'

'Religion and Christianity are the biggest things missing from this country. And I truly believe that we need to bring them back and have to bring them back fast. I think it’s one of the biggest problems we have. That’s why our country is going haywire. We’ve lost religion in our country.'

Dennis, on this alone, though there is much more evidence as WJA has mentioned, I rest my case that Trump is a con man. There is no denying he is good at it as millions wholeheartedly support him.

BTW - anyone in the US may get a bible for free from Bibles For America which for some reason Trump did not mention.
