Your "standard disclaimer" made me think of this, Bill. It's time for people to wake up and realize that the 2-party system is the problem. Both party bosses have similar personal and political interests that preclude the interests of the electorate.

The immense disrespect for the nuclear codes is beyond my wildest nightmares. I have more of them these days.

Let’s remember the Biden re-election campaign’s first ad last September was touting him as a war time commander in chief. Nothing is real to these people.

Having recently read the excellent and totally terrifying book Nuclear War: A Scenario by Annie Jacobsen, we must have a better individual than Biden in the White House. And I dread to think of Trump being the one there! So yes, time is short and Trump must have a better challenger.

As another SAC Vet. 73-77 Active Duty, Sky-Cop blue beret I also am alarmed at the declining state of JB's. mind & body! As Stephen King said to lose ones mind is the greatest horror, and I believe that too. That fact alone is enough for me to for the good of the country relieve him of his duties, but will it happen? I think not. Power is such an aphrodisiac to most if not all to relinquish it is nearly impossible. We'll see. Its gonna be a bumpy ride as one Sun God, Command Pilot once told me in SAC..!

What some Dems are in effect saying is that there is no need to have anyone in the Oval Office, that things can go right along on the auto-pilot provided by those in high positions around a President without one. An empty office is superior to one with Trump in it.

I heard Jen Psaki making the ridiculous argument that the process of replacing Biden with anyone else is simply too difficult. We the people are taken for fools that she would say this. It also shows what a dud the Dems think Kamala is; they dare not even mention her. A competent VP would make all the nonsense we hear unnecessary as succession is the deliberately designed insurance policy for the situation.

As others have said, power is everything, proven by the humiliating things those who have it will say and do to retain it. Self respect is easily put aside. It appears that as long as Biden is capable of mumbling "I stay!", maybe requiring his wife to interpret, he will be allowed to.

BTW, Psaki reminds me very much of a sedated Rachel Maddow.

Would you board a 737 if you knew that Biden was the pilot in his current condition? Do you think he would pass his physical for his pilots license? Is he still zipping around in his 'vette?

Think he would pass a random drug test for a job at McDonalds?

No to all of the above, and how would you like your Pilot speaking Ragtime over the public address system onboard!?

Go back to the point You and several BVers have made since the debate, Bill:

Is the higher priority Biden's projected physical and mental fitness for office for four more years, if re-elected?

Or is the higher priority his demonstrated physical and mental unfitness for office between now and January 20, 2025?

Jeff, there's clear and compelling evidence that he should be removed from office now.

The most ridiculous aspect of the question of his immediate removal or termination of his candidacy is that it is claimed to be solely the decision of the 'Biden family' and specifically 'Doctor Jill'.

And as bad is the Republican response that focuses on Trump's forthcoming 'blowout' in November.

Where is there the open and serious discussion now of invoking the 25th amendment given the reasons you stated in your post and the responses below it?

Earlier, TomR asked: “Where is there the open and serious discussion now of invoking the 25th amendment given the reasons you stated in your post and the responses below it?”

It looks like serious discussion may be about to begin... :

CONGRESSMAN CHIP ROY INTRODUCES HOUSE RESOLUTION TO REMOVE BIDEN FROM OFFICE VIA 25TH AMENDMENT by Brittany Bernstein / National Review 29 Jun 24

Vice President Kamala Harris would be pressured to bring together leaders of the executive cabinet to push President Biden out of office via the 25th Amendment, under a new resolution introduced by Representative Chip Roy (R., Texas) on Friday.

The resolution calls on Harris and members of the cabinet to “activate section 4 of the 25th Amendment to declare President Joseph R. Biden incapable of executing the duties of his office and to immediately exercise powers as Acting President.” The aforementioned section allows the vice president and a majority of the executive cabinet to decide whether the president is fit to serve.

Roy’s resolutions argues that Biden “has repeatedly and publicly demonstrated his inability to discharge the powers and duties of the Presidency, including, among others, the powers and duties of the Commander-in-Chief.”

Biden struggled to form coherent sentences and at times wore a confused expression on his face during the first presidential debate on Thursday evening, showing signs of his advanced age and sparking immediate panic among many Democratic pundits and voters.

A vote on the resolution could force Democrats to go on record about whether they still view Biden as fit to serve.

Despite immediate panic from CNN and MSNBC commentators and Democratic operatives following the debate, many Democrats have since come to Biden’s defense, including former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, former House speaker Nancy Pelosi, House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries, and Representative Jim Clyburn.

It was not immediately clear whether the resolution would get a vote.

“I’m not trying to pressure or blindside leadership or anything,” Roy said of the resolution. “It’s just something I feel strongly about filing. We’ll see where my colleagues are.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson did not say whether he supported Roy’s resolution, but told the Washington Times that it would be up to Biden’s cabinet, not lawmakers, to invoke the 25th Amendment, if deemed appropriate.

“If I were in the cabinet … I would be having that discussion with my colleagues at the cabinet level. I would, and I think many of them are,” Johnson said. “In their heart of hearts, they understand exactly what we do. They see exactly what we do. And we’ll see what action they take.”

Note: An alternative would be for Congress to offer President Biden a deal: Voluntarily Resign or Be Impeached.

This is a good move. This question should be beyond politics.

Biden simply isn't capable. You can't have a POTUS who routinely has "bad" (non-lucid) days.

The Yank people just need to accept the inevitable and replace Genocide Joe with Donald J Trump 6-months early.

The first Monday after July 4th would be as good a date as any for Jill to clean out hubby's desk in the oval office.

After all the American Presidential election system is the laughingstock of the whole world. Everybody knows that the notion that the POTUS is democratically elected is a sick joke anyway! My suggestion could not be any worse than the clown show that's going on now and would not shock anybody! And the country could go about getting something done before the US goes down the toilet! This situation with the Biden family reminds me of the German military under Hitler, where they were made to swear an loyalty oath to Hitler rather than to the country. Apparently Democrat leaders have a loyalty oath to Joe Biden personally, replacing their oath to be loyal to the United States and to its Constitution.

More Hindenburg than Hitler save for the fact that President Biden has been a fraud his entire life.

Remember, he was caught during the 1988 Presidential election by a somewhat honest media and had to bow out for blatant lies. He never changed, not one bit. Now, he’s suffering from dementia and we will pay the price.

I'm scared. Seriously, I'm scared about nukes. And the fact that a considerable percentage of the American and western European public are NOT worried about nukes makes me even more worried about nukes!

Also, to repeat what many analysts said after that ridiculous "debate" show:

Who's actually running the country?

And, I haven't heard this said, but surely I'm not the only one thinking it: If I myself knew that Biden could not manage a debate, you can be certain that Biden's handlers knew he couldn't manage the debate.

And that leads me to think: it's almost like the unelected shadow government that actually runs the US government WANTED Trump to win the debate. A shadow government comprised of the billionaires and corporations that control these ridiculous politicians.

You can bet that this shadow government KNOWS that money already donated to Biden cannot be reassigned to a new Democrat nominee.¹

It only follows that Trump is being set up to win.

Which seems like the perfect act to follow 4 years of Biden, especially if the unelected shadow government knows they're skating on a crisis of legitimacy, with the majority of Americans pissed off at a government that never listens to them and most certainly doesn't give a shit about them.

Just sayin'. If I was a billionaire deep state person, I'd definitely want Trump elected, in order to make Americans think they have a say in a government they have no say in.

Gotta swing back and forth to keep it fresh and clean-looking.

They don’t want Trump. I believe this was a Political assassination to get him off the ticket. If he leaves, he will release his delegates and the Convention will decide. The Party doesn’t want Kamala either. It’s a messy path, but they can probably make it work.
