Speaking of "brave" Harvard, they just released a statement saying they will no longer issue official statements on anything other than their "core" functions.
This from The Boston Globe: Harvard University said Tuesday that its leaders would no longer issue official statements about public matters that “do not directly affect the university’s core function.”
Well since one of the universities "Core Functions" are political science and diplomatic relations it should be now surprise why the US is where it is now in world relations. Or maybe it's leaders should at least audit the courses and at learn that diplomacy begins with talking rather than calling on the police thugs as a means of "diplomacy". Reading the constitution of the US would also be advised.
The first immediate and obvious Question, Bill, is: What Exactly IS Harvard's ~ or any other university's or college's so-called [and ultimately] self-proclaimed "core function" in America~ and on the entire Planet, on the cusp of Summer 2024?
Permit me to recommend that nobody volunteer to hang by their thumbs waiting to get an Answer to that to Question. At least an "Answer" that has any relevance whatsoever to the Real World today.
One should ask, instead: "Would it not better to focus, at the very least, on its [Harvard's] 'function' in the World of America ~ and this entire Planet ~ at and in this, the end of the 5th month of the second decade of the 21st century: ?
But be careful. That could lead You to also ask: What HAS BEEN the function, purpose, objective, goal, and intent of AMERICA since the end of World War II and Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Let alone Korea and Vietnam, Central America, Gulf War I in 1991, and ~ of course ~ "The Forever War" since 9/11? And now Ukraine, Gaza, and ultimately, East Asia?
In other words: Relate all that to America's focus, intent, purpose, goals, and objectives regarding Ukraine, Gaza, and ~ next ~ someplace in East Asia with China.
And then link all that to Election2024. And to the "choices" America will have on November 5 [assuming an election actually happens}: Biden or Trump.
But be careful again.
Asking those types of Questions speculating on the Answers to those Questions will no doubt lead to the "monitoring" of BV: as mentioned before in reference to the Warren Commission Report on the murder of President Kennedy.

The "core" function of the "Harvard Corporation" is making money, hence its huge endowment. In that sense, it's a perfect representation of American values.
