An "unscripted news conference" is a "major test"

The candidacy of Joe Biden is doomed.

Why? Even CNN can’t muster respect for him. It’s now a “major test” for Biden to face an “unscripted” news conference in DC. That’s the kind of president I want: one who faces a “major test” every time he speaks to a friendly press without a script.

Here’s the snippet from CNN:

President Joe Biden will face a major test today when he holds an unscripted news conference at the NATO summit in Washington, DC. It comes after his poor debate performance left an indelible impression on many voters who are seriously questioning the president's mental fitness for another term. Some Democratic donors are also holding back big checks as the party continues to wrestle with the path forward. On Wednesday, actor George Clooney, who had been among Biden's biggest supporters and donors in Hollywood, took the step of publicly calling for him to bow out of the race. "We are not going to win in November with this president," Clooney wrote in a New York Times opinion piece, adding that some lawmakers he has spoken with privately shared this view. Clooney said the country deserves to hear from other politicians who could potentially replace Biden at the top of the ticket.

In yesterday’s piece, when I called for George Clooney to replace Biden, I wasn’t aware of his opinion piece in the New York Times. Talk about a happy coincidence.

Clooney is already living his best life, so it’s doubtful indeed whether he’d take several steps down from his Hollywood perch to become president.

How does Kamala Harris sound, America?

A recent interview by ABC News of Marianne Williamson suggests an alternative path. It’s refreshing to hear Marianne speak. In running against Biden, she met the usual DNC roadblocks, and her characterization of the party hacks against her is spot on. She speaks of a dithering party, of cowardice, of the abject failure of Democrats to act, partly due to cynicism and careerism infesting and infecting the upper ranks of the party. Having observed it up close and personal, she knows of what she speaks.

The American people are desperate, Marianne notes, and they’d rather embrace the false hope offered by Trump than no-hope Biden. Biden and Harris have no vision; they are merely operatives within a Democratic machine that has no soul. You go, Marianne.

Marianne Williamson is right, of course, which is why the DNC despises her. She’d make a great candidate to take on Trump, if only she didn’t have that annoying streak of honesty and integrity. Annoying to the DNC, that is, not to the American people.
