It's almost humorous that so many Americans think that they live in a "democracy" even though they never get a real choice for who their next president is going to be. In 2016 we had the "choice" of Trump or Clinton, in 2020 we had the "choice" of Trump or Biden, and now it looks like we might just get a rematch of Trump and Biden. None of these "candidates" had more than 35% popularity among the US population. Potential candidates who are more popular don't ever get a chance as they are undermined by the DNC, RNC and the corporate owned "news". Consider that almost half of the eligible voters have given up on the whole crooked mess, under the assumption that it is a rigged, fake extravaganza. But the Red and Blue Teams love it that way, since the remaining voters are tribal followers who always vote for their team, no matter who is running. America truly is exceptional, in all the wrong ways.

Good reminder that the power structure has not changed much in US history, and that these two, and quite a few others are as old and tired as their ideas.

Speaking of confused older guys, Biden misidentified Ukraine as Iraq twice in 24 hours:

It's nice to know Putin is losing the Iraq War, just like we did.

No worries: it's just one of Biden's "gaffes." I see no pattern here.

I'm speechless. As an old timer, myself, I hope these old timer politicians retire. We so desperately need younger, wokers, folks in office.

It is simply incomprehensible for anyone claiming to live in the real world to argue that white male privilege no longer exists, particularly when it concerns who gets to run this country and have access to the levers of economic and political power.

Not sure if females normally have similar locker room talk, Bill. I've never heard any. The talk I've heard (granted, not often in recent years) centers mostly around home, family, and significant other issues. Hmmm.....which means that if any 80-year-old female candidate commented about grabbing a guy's junk, it would be such an anomaly (as far as I know), it would indeed be a scandal. ; )

I always think it's funny all these white males who obsess with white privilege but who cling to their exalted power until they die in office. It's rather like Bernie Sanford, supposedly a believer in "socialism" but who clings to his Senate office like a Prince.
