A sincere question: why do you think the 25th Amendment has not yet been invoked? What I don’t understand is why anyone would assume that someone suffering from dementia is capable of making the decision to step down from the presidency. Clearly he can’t. So it seems reasonable to me that responsible people must make that decision for him in the same way that my family had to make the decision to stop letting my dad drive. He thought he could drive; we knew he couldn’t.
"Responsible people" -- yes, that's it. We're not dealing with responsible people. Besides, the system can run without the POTUS. In fact, Biden has been little more than a figurehead at times.
Which in itself is one of the constitutional aberrations that now define our democracy. With Bibi's visit maybe the chamber can wave Israeli flags. I don't see why Ukraine should be honored in such a way and not our "greatest ally."
Well, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see plenty of Israeli flag wavers in the Chamber. After all, Ukraine is just a temporary patsy that doesn't have anywhere near the $$ or other holds over Congress like AIPAC et al does.
Yes, that's undeniable, Jeff. No one person could possibly run our vast system of government. It has become thoroughly corrupt, corrupting, as well as being unwieldy, and I'd say often predatory on the American people. Or parasitic.
I wonder as well. I had a friend, significantly older, who in his final years was not only forgetful but had bouts of real (and evermore frequent) belligerence. Before his wife died, we would travel with them and go out to dinner frequently. Soon after she died we had an incident where he screamed at young people at the next table whose noise level annoyed him. It was terrible! Even at home we experienced similar outbursts over what, we never could determine. It was excruciating to watch and certainly ended our dining out with him. When I relive how quickly this happened to him, I'm left dismayed that anyone remotely concerned for the man and the country leaves this sh$tshow play on.
The people running this sh$tshow are concerned about neither the man nor the country, TomG.
They are concerned about Power and Wealth: Increasing their Power so as to be able to acquire more Wealth so as to be able get and take more Power so as to be able to acquire more Wealth so as to... ."
