Someone close to Biden should tell him he's already announced he will not be running again and has already resigned. Then give him a set of golf clubs and tell him he has a tee time in 15 minutes.

It could work. I've heard he has a six handicap. Or was it eight?

Biden is good at staying in DC since Nixon was President.

What does that tell You about him?

As said in Alice (in Wonderland) said, "curiouser and curiouser".

I had heard no comment in the MSM (to be expected) - but reports that "Iran was plotting to kill Trump" were not tied to Netanyahu's forthcoming visit and address to his serfs in Congress. We are to believe that unnamed sources just found this, and it won't come up in Netanyahu's speech?

Much has been made that Harris would be a weak but still stronger candidate than Biden.

Maybe. But the Democrats problems are only going to get worse no matter how this plays out:

1. If Biden is too weak and cognitively impaired to be a candidate, how can he be allowed to remain the sitting US President for another six months with all the crises that exist?

2. If Biden remains in office through the election, then Kamala Harris has to run on his record and defend the actions of an administration to which she belonged. The ghost of Hubert Humphrey will arise.

3. Democrats for months and years, and some to present, told the public that Biden is fit as a fiddle and more energetic and focused than ever. But now, they're admitting they've known -some for years, that he was in cognitive decline and advancing senility. Why would anyone believe anything they say?

fund raising ability vs leadership

I worked at a private university. The heads of the different schools were expected to be big fund raisers while their leadership of the school was secondary. Some did not care to be salesmen and that would mean a search would be on to replace them. The university has a several billion dollar endowment, so there is little need for more, particularly since donors are always pouring in money to have this and that, right down to individual classrooms, named after them.

Profit, whether by individuals or businesses, comes before people. And when is profit enough? Never. We are living the result.

When You say "our corrupt government," Clif, are You referring specifically to the Biden Administration? If so, is this Administration any different from any other?

Or are You speaking of the system of Government and Governance of this Nation that sets up Vested Special Interests to be able to bid for the legal power, administrative authority, and, especially, the spending capability and capacity of that Government, so as to advance the agendas ~ Power and Wealth ~ of those VSIs?

A sincere question: why do you think the 25th Amendment has not yet been invoked? What I don’t understand is why anyone would assume that someone suffering from dementia is capable of making the decision to step down from the presidency. Clearly he can’t. So it seems reasonable to me that responsible people must make that decision for him in the same way that my family had to make the decision to stop letting my dad drive. He thought he could drive; we knew he couldn’t.

"Responsible people" -- yes, that's it. We're not dealing with responsible people. Besides, the system can run without the POTUS. In fact, Biden has been little more than a figurehead at times.

Which in itself is one of the constitutional aberrations that now define our democracy. With Bibi's visit maybe the chamber can wave Israeli flags. I don't see why Ukraine should be honored in such a way and not our "greatest ally."

I wonder as well. I had a friend, significantly older, who in his final years was not only forgetful but had bouts of real (and evermore frequent) belligerence. Before his wife died, we would travel with them and go out to dinner frequently. Soon after she died we had an incident where he screamed at young people at the next table whose noise level annoyed him. It was terrible! Even at home we experienced similar outbursts over what, we never could determine. It was excruciating to watch and certainly ended our dining out with him. When I relive how quickly this happened to him, I'm left dismayed that anyone remotely concerned for the man and the country leaves this sh$tshow play on.

Here's Vance's tweet: "If Joe Biden doesn't have the cognitive function to run for re-election, then he certainly doesn't have the cognitive function to remain as Commander-In-Chief," Vance posted. "How can any Dem pushing him to drop out of the presidential race, argue in good faith that he should stay on as POTUS?"

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., echoed that sentiment to reporters at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee Thursday:

"The question is, if he's not going to be their nominee because he's not up to it, how can he be our president for the next six months?" Rubio said, according to Politico. "If there's something wrong with you that doesn't allow you to run for president, how can you still be there as president? If they're going to remove him as nominee, they’ve got to remove him as president, and that's really bad for our country."

Off Topic; but not really... :

A Thought about July 20, 1969

Fifty-five years ago today, eight-plus years after President Kennedy had committed the United States to “achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to earth,” that goal was accomplished.

After hearing “Houston, Tranquility Base here, the Eagle has landed,” and then, six hours later, watching Neil Armstrong’s “One small step...,” a friend of mine said “If we humans can do that, we can do anything.”

When will the leaders of this Nation and Planet similarly commit to Ending Poverty, Hunger, Disease, Illiteracy, Global Warming, Tyranny, and the ultimate, root cause of these conditions, War?

More importantly, when will the Peoples of this Nation and Planet DEMAND that those leaders do exactly that?

Note: A video and transcript of Kennedy’s speech is available at ttps://www.jfklibrary.org/learn/about-jfk/historic-speeches/address-to-joint-session-of-congress-may-25-1961 . For the curious: "Nathan Mileikowsky (Hebrew: נתן מיליקובסקי; August 15, 1879 – February 4, 1935) was a Zionist political activist, rabbi, and writer. Mileikowsky's son was the scholar and academic Benzion Netanyahu, and his grandson is current Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu." [ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nathan_Mileikowsky ]

In his 29 April 24 piece ~ ONE POLITICAL PARTY IS UNIQUELY EVIL ~ UNDERTHROW’s Max Borders offers an overview diagram of the Censorship Industrial Complex that includes the components of the CIC from Government, Foundations, Big Tech, Fact Checkers, Think Tanks, Academic Initiatives, and For Profit organizations:

https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2Fceb2d9c4-4a3b-41af-a8b8-1e472921c6ce_1456x971.webp

He then prefaces his “Ten Reasons the Democratic Party is Evil” with extensive and linked justifications with this statement:

“The party of JFK has become uniquely evil. Indeed, members of that party have adopted positions almost completely at odds with what we might broadly refer to as JFK values. Still, a strange mass psychology holds half the country in groupthink’s grip. Such is not to argue that the other half of the country isn’t in a similar grip. It’s just that, right now, there’s dumb groupthink and evil groupthink.”

Those Ten Reasons are:

1. The Democrats are now completely hostile to both the spirit and letter of FREE EXPRESSION.

2. The Democrats are either confused or duplicitous about the NATURE OF SCIENCE that one need only replace the words “The Science™” with “my faith,” “my kickback,” or “my team” whenever the former spills from their mouths.

3. The Democrats have become bedfellows with the MILITARY-INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX, having discovered the game of playing against yourself, which ensures you always win.

4. The Democrats have become bedfellows with the NATIONAL SECURITY STATE, which acts illegally, unconstitutionally, and with impunity. At a certain point, the party calculated that if you can’t beat them, join them.

5. The Democrats have maintained a cynical and illegal OPEN BORDERS policy designed to gain them perpetual power.

6. The Democrats are infected with SOCIAL JUSTICE FUNDAMENTALISM.

7. The Democrats are in full-throated support of chemically castrating and butchering children and teens without proper informed consent. Euphemistically called “GENDER-AFFIRMING CARE.”

8. The Democrats are willing to use LAWFARE, ILLEGAL, AND ILLIBERAL MEANS to stop their main political adversary from taking office again. TO POINT THIS OUT DOES NOT MEAN ONE SUPPORTS DONALD TRUMP. IT MEANS WE CANNOT SACRIFICE IMPARTIAL JUSTICE FOR POLITICAL VENDETTAS.

[EMPHASIS added.]

9. The Democrats have adopted economic policies that amount to the idea that UNLIMITED DEBT SPENDING DOESN’T MATTER.

10. The Democrats have ideologically infested the MAINSTREAM MEDIA, ACADEMIA, AND PUBLIC EDUCATION to such a degree that independent media are our only hope if we are to have some measure of collective sensemaking.

Borders then declares:

I could do ten more of these, but President Kennedy would agree with me on all ten despite his having written A NATION OF IMMIGRANTS. But, Max, you might be wondering, what about the Republicans? We’ll save the Republicans for another day. The Republicans are not in power, and whataboutism is for suckers and single-issue voters.

It’s a shame the Democrats didn’t take advantage of the opportunity to have Biden announce that he will not be the Party’s candidate in November, and that he has released all committed Delegates to choose whoever they want to be the candidate at the Democratic National Convention next month.

And did it on Thursday, the same day Trump got officially nominated and delivered his rant.

But given that America's Ruling Political Class and Deep State have determined that Donald Trump is to be the next POTUS, i don't think the wait for America to fail and fall will be long.

And if somehow Trump is not made the next POTUS in November, that fail and fall will happen even sooner. January 6 was just a dress rehearsal.
